Walk 28th July - Twelve happy people enjoyed a nearly 4 mile circular walk, starting and ending at “The Leather Bottle” in Mattingley.
It was a beautiful summers day, not quite as hot as it has been, and we enjoyed lovely views across scorched fields, tinkling streams, crossed picturesque wooden bridges and tried to spot the Alpacas in their paddock, but they were resting, out of the sun.
We passed the beautiful 15th Century church at Mattingley, with its herringbone styled brickwork and some of us stepped inside the cool church to admire the stained glass windows and enjoy a peaceful moment in a church, steeped in history.
Coffee and a light lunch at the pub was the perfect end to a delightful walk.
