Crondall and Lee Wood Walk - April 2026

Four of us started our walk from Crondall Church. The weather was a bit overcast but dry. Walking along a farm track we passed the Penn Croft Winery. Further along the track we were lucky to hear the sound of skylarks and spotted them hovering over the large open fields. Going slightly uphill we admired views of the gentle rolling hills until we reached Lee Wood. It was pleasant to walk through the trees and a few bluebells were visible. Along the bank after some houses we spotted some cowslips.
Reaching the road we passed Montgomery’s Farm before entering another large field.
Returning to Lee Wood by a different route we ended up at the back of the Winery. On reaching the church in Crondall we decided to have a look inside and then back to our cars via the church yard. Walk of about 4 miles led by Lella Ranger
