Flaming June they call it but any flames around this morning would have been swiftly extinguished! Nevertheless seven of us set off from The Tythings to view the delights of Yateley. Julia had planned to extend the route of the Mayors Ramble which took place in May, with a side trip into Castle Bottom. It was my first trip out with the group since my knee went twang in March so I was prepared to shorten the walk if I was struggling. Four of us chose to do the shorter route, following the Mayors three mile route and answering his riddles along the way whilst the others went on into Castle Bottom. It was interesting, a nice change from our usual walks and a good route for me coming back into action. Thanks to Julia for leading us in spite of her route and question sheet turning into papier maché along the route. Lunch in the White Lion gave us time to dry out.
